esl files have a budget of no more than 2,048 forms, with Form IDs 0x800 to 0xFFF available for use.Ī absolute maximum of 4096. esl files allow more plugins to be loaded than the previous 8-bit plugin ID limit (255), by using more of the Form ID for their load order.
Active development should be done in an normal. esl files cannot be edited in the Creation Kit. Here's a comprehensive list on what ".esl" files can and can't do (from ):
The ".esl" ".esl" plugins otherwise known as "light masters" are a new plugin type added with SE and the Creation Club, you may notice that most CC mods use this plugin format, it was probably created because Bethesda wanted to make a plugin type that wouldn't count towards your 255 plugin limit, and didn't want Creation Club mods to lock players out of achievements when downloaded. Here I'll explain what an esl is, what it isn't and how it can make your life past the 255 plugin limit an absolute heaven when compared to F3/NV. If you asked me (which you haven't) I'd say that ".esl" and "espfe" plugins are the best thing to come out of Fallout 4. I, Mazetism, still *like* the game but I'm waiting for F4 New Vegas, Capital Wasteland, Cascadia, and Miami. There are a ton of mods that add onto the settlement game and I really like Sim Settlements. The DLC adds onto it but mostly meh, Far Harbor being the outlier. Basic game, its okay but still very limited. Trainwiz said its because Bethesda looooves Minecraft but I think its just ripping off Wasteland Defense and survival games. One of Fallout 4's newest features is its Settlement Building system. They're shit and also reselling you features that were in previous games base features! For Example: MANNEQUINS! You know? That cool think that Skyrim introduced that we can hang up our gear for display? Fallout 4 said fuck that, give me 10 dollars extra! Sure, Preston gets mad at you but he goes right back to business still being your bitch. "I can join these factions but why can't I become a raider like in New Vegas?" Bethesda's answer was giving this to us in Nuka World. Nuka World would have worked better if it was before Far Harbor in release and the whole shtick of Nuka World is that in the main complaint of the base game. Far Harbor is really good and it's a better version of the Main Storyline because its almost literally tick for tack retelling but with different actors.
Fallout 4 is full of this where you are given 4 options of choices but they are all literally Yes, Mean Yes, Sarcastic Yes and No (Yes later). Without a mod, we get instances of that what is given as a choice isn't what is said. It severally restricts the already basic ass story but the dialogue choices are Positive, Negative, Neutral and Question. Dialogue in 4 has to be the most hated thing I have for the game.
Simplified perks, character backstory is premade (like 3 but even worse), limited to 4 dialogue choices (however a mod unrestricts this), and everyone's favorite! Voice Protag! A voice protag wouldn't be so bad if it was actually good and diverse but you're locked to one voice and dear god I hate the dialogue. Yes, it does have better gunplay and there have been mods that are trying to make it even on par with games from a decade ago! But like recent titles of Bethesda, the game has been streamlined yet again for 5 year olds. Now hold on, I don't mean it's a terrible game but its such a step down yet again from the previous games in many aspects. I'd appreciate any advice if anyone has experienced this.In my opinion, Fallout 4 is not a good game. Also, nothing gets deposited in the workbenches, like water and food, anymore.
I haven't noticed performance issues with the game, but it seems my settlements have glitched in that they don't add new settlers and I can't assign or move the settlers that are there. I've had to shut off all autosaves and now only have the quicksave and two hardsaves.
My question is does anyone know if I tear down some or most of my settlements will it reduce my save file size? I assume it was the settlements that bloated my save file. Exceeded the build limit on all, but never by more than around a half bar. I'm level 235 and have maxed out all factions' questlines up to the point of no return. The last time I paid any attention I think I it was somewhere in the teens. So I looked at my most recent quicksave and noticed for the first time that it was 241 MB. So I deleted all autosaves and two of the hardsaves, and the next time the game tried to autosave it said it again.
At the time I had the quick and autosaves plus five hardsaves.
I play on PS4 and recently the game started preventing me from saving.
